Heterogeneity and Differentiation

Click here to go through the findings from the group work.

Heterogeneity seems so important in today's society, where many different people need to work together, and children need to learn to respect others, as well as build on each other's capabilities from an early age. Differentiation helps to make the heterogeneous group of people feel like they all can overcome the task and do a good job, by starting from wherever they are and develop from there. The mixed classroom, can also help each other learn; The better student refines his knowledge by helping the student who struggles, and by listening to students better than themselves, students can aspire to be better as well as learn from them. This also creates an environment of student centered learning.
